Working Principle
Centrifugal gold ore concentrators are a relatively new type of gravity separation equipment. This equipment utilizes the principle of a centrifuge, enhancing the gravity acting on the feed particles to separate them based on particle density. Its main components include a conical "concentrator" hopper rotated at high speed by a motor and a pressurized water jacket surrounding the hopper. Feed typically comes from the discharge of a ball mill or the underflow of a cyclone separator, fed from above into the center of the hopper as a slurry. The feed slurry contacts the bottom plate of the hopper and is pushed outwards by the hopper's rotation. The outer edge of the concentrator hopper has a series of ribs, with a groove between each pair of ribs. During operation, lighter materials flow upwards through the grooves, while heavier mineral particles (usually of economic value) are retained within the grooves. Pressurized water is injected through a series of tangential inlets along the periphery of each groove to maintain a fluidized bed of particles, thus effectively concentrating the heavy mineral particles.

Field applications have demonstrated gold recovery rates of up to 99%, with a concentration ratio of up to 1,000:1. For natural gold in lode ore with a particle size of -0.074 mm, the recovery rate can reach 98%, while for gold particles as fine as 0.04 mm, the recovery rate can reach 97%.
